Senate and other leading Republicans are rallying behind President Donald Trump’s deals with pharmaceutical companies and the TrumpRx program, calling it a major win in a political landscape hyper-focused on health care affordability.

“President Trump and Republicans promised to make life more affordable for all Americans,” Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R., Wyo.) exclusively told the Washington Reporter.  “TrumpRx gives patients access to the prescription drugs they need at prices they can afford. Republicans are laser-focused on putting more money in people’s pockets.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) said on X, “Thanks to @realDonaldTrump, Americans are about to pay less for prescription drugs. TrumpRx is a direct-to-consumer platform that will offer lower costs and better options for consumers. This administration is making history by making health care affordable again.”

The Senate Republican Conference, chaired by Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), added on X that “TrumpRx makes it easier and more affordable for Americans to get prescription medication. Senate Republicans applaud the President for lowering prices and expanding access to lifesaving prescription drugs.”

Sen. Roger Marshall (R., Kan.), a physician, highlighted how TrumpRx bypasses traditional middlemen in the drug supply chain. “You’ll be drawing it directly from the pharmacy, and you’ll be avoiding these middlemen,” Marshall said. “I think this will be the biggest game changer this year for the cost of health care.”

Rep. Russell Fry (R., S.C.) echoed that point, posting on X that “prescription drug prices are out of control. President Trump just launched TrumpRx to cut out the middlemen and drive costs down.”

Rep. Barry Moore (R., Ala.) also told the Reporter that TrumpRx is “incredible” and will be an effective tool for delivering lower prescription drug costs directly to patients.

Launched on February 5, Trump Rx connects consumers to discounted brand-name medications from more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies.

The chorus of support from Republican leadership comes as the party looks to build a campaign-trail record on affordability ahead of the November midterms.

“Every single Republican needs to be talking about TrumpRx at home,” one Republican strategist told the Reporter. “It’s a perfect example of how President Trump and Republicans delivered where Democrats failed. And every voter can see firsthand how much cheaper the drugs are.”
