The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is continuing its celebration of America’s 250th birthday by spending six figures across five battleground states, celebrating the results that Republican state legislators have brought home.

The RSLC’s final “States Don’t Wait” campaign, obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter, is airing in five critical battleground states — Minnesota, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania; the massive digital ad campaign revolves around one of the founding principles of the American experiment: that power belongs to the people, and not to the government.

“America was founded on a radical idea,” the ad, titled “Next,” says. “Power belongs to the people, and from that freedom, America changed the world, defeated tyranny, conquered the stars, defied the impossible. But while radical socialists push more power to govern.”

“Republican-led states are returning it to the people, cutting red tape, rooting out fraud, creating opportunity, because the next 250 years can be even bolder than the first, and states don’t wait to lead the way,” it concludes.

The ad comes as Democrats across the country are increasingly embracing candidates aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). While midterms are historically hostile to the party in control of the White House, the RSLC likes the contrast it is drawing with Democrats in state capitols across the country.

“America was founded on a simple idea: that power belongs to the people, not the government,” the RSLC’s President, Edith Jorge-Tuñón, explained to the Reporter. “Yet Democrats are increasingly embracing a bigger-government agenda that puts bureaucracy ahead of the people they serve. Republican legislatures are proving there is a better way cutting taxes, rooting out fraud, cutting red tape and creating more opportunity for families and businesses.”

“As we celebrate 250 years of self-government, Republican states are standing up for the principles that made this country exceptional and we’re just getting started,” Jorge-Tuñón added. “The elections ahead will be fiercely contested, but Republicans will continue fighting for a common-sense agenda that puts people, not government, first.”

The RSLC complemented its ad release by launching a new microsite that touts how “States Don’t Wait,” continuing its focus on Republicans at state and local levels.
