Michigan Republicans are getting major down-ballot reinforcements as the Wolverine State braces for November’s elections.

While the state’s marquee races for governor and Senate have attracted the vast majority of the headlines and the spending, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is getting in on the action with a seven-figure digital ad campaign obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter

One of the RSLC’s initial ads, “Good Stuff,” channels Kid Rock’s anthem about summers in northern Michigan while making the case for one of the state House’s Republicans, Rylee Linting. “Nothing beats summer in Michigan,” the narrator says. “Flags flying high, boats out, grill blazing, fireworks over the lake, the kind of freedom people come here to feel. That’s the good stuff. State Representative Rylee Linting works every day to keep it alive.”

The RSLC’s latest ad campaign is helping Linting and eleven of her fellow Republicans. The other candidates the RSLC is backing with similar ads are Ryan Berman, Karl Bohnak, Kim Cole, Steve Frisbie, Mark Huizenga, Laura Perry, Ron Robinson, Kathy Schmaltz, Jamie Thompson, Mark Tisdel, and Michael Webber.

Republicans currently hold a narrow majority in the Michigan state House, and the RSLC identified Michigan early in the 2026 cycle as one of its top priorities, along with Arizona, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The stakes in these states, along with others, remain high as Democrats look to several of them as targets to gerrymander Republicans out of Congress as soon as 2027. For Democrats, flipping the Michigan state House is a top priority in 2026, as is retaining the seats of retiring Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D., Mich.) and Sen. Gary Peters (D., Mich.).

“The Michigan way of life is worth protecting, and that’s exactly what Republican state representatives are doing every day,” Edith Jorge-Tuñón, the RSLC’s president, explained. “From making life more affordable and strengthening public safety to defending the freedoms families cherish, Republicans are delivering the leadership Michigan deserves. While Democrats in Lansing chase partisan agendas, Republicans are focused on results. This campaign is about reminding Michiganders who’s fighting for them and ensuring Republicans keep the Michigan House majority that’s standing up for their families, their communities, and their future.”

The RSLC’s latest major investment in Michigan is nothing new for the organization; during the 2024 cycle, the RSLC and the Michigan Freedom Network spent seven figures on absentee and early voting programs that specifically targeted low-propensity Republican voters in top Michigan races.

The RSLC is complementing its major ad buy by expanding its Project Doorstrike initiative, which is the committee’s most ambitious state-level GOTV program.
