In the home stretch of South Carolina’s GOP runoff for Senate, Sen. Darline Graham (R., S.C.) got a major boost from Leading the Future, which was obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter.
Leading the Future, one of the major players in the artificial intelligence (AI) race, spent $500,000 in the race’s closing days touting Graham’s close ties to President Donald Trump.
“When President Trump needed someone he could trust in the United States Senate, he didn’t wait for a politician to come to him,” the ad says. “He called Darline Graham and asked her to run. Darline will fight for Trump’s agenda: secure the border, cut taxes, and confirm conservative judges.”
Ahead of the race’s initial primary, Trump fully backed Graham, who was running against a series of Trump-aligned Republicans, including Rep. Russell Fry (R., S.C.). Following the initial primary, Graham and Rep. Ralph Norman (R., S.C.) advanced to the runoff. For the runoff itself, most of South Carolina’s political establishment is behind Graham, although Norman has picked up endorsements from several Trump foes, like former Rep. Mark Sanford (R., S.C.) and former Gov. Nikki Haley (R., S.C.), both of whom ran for president against Trump.
