Rep. Lisa McClain (R., Mich.), the House GOP’s chairwoman, is bringing reinforcements close to home for the final days of the 2026 midterm elections.
After a summer of campaigning with Republican incumbents and challengers across the country, McClain is bringing almost 100 people to Michigan in the first-ever Michigan delegation deployment, in which McClain, along with Michigan’s entire GOP delegation, are flooding the state’s targeted districts with door knockers who will urge Michiganders to support Reps. Bill Huizenga (R., Mich.) and Tom Barrett (R., Mich.), along with challengers Terri DeBoer and Mike Bouchard in Michigan’s 3rd and 10th Districts, respectively.
“I’ve said it for months,” McClain told the Washington Reporter, which received the exclusive preview of her latest campaign organization. “This is a contrast election: common sense vs. communist crazy. Republicans are energized and cashing in on our momentum to defend the House and Senate.”
“I’m proud of the volunteers and the effort it has taken to organize it all,” McClain added. “A deployment of this scale certainly doesn’t happen overnight. We’re ready to hit the ground running, knock on doors, and make sure Michiganders know who’s fighting for them. Let’s go win this thing.”
McClain noted that a first-time deployment of this size doesn’t “happen overnight,” and sources familiar with the deployment’s planning told the Reporter that Rep. Tim Walberg (R., Mich.) was also instrumental in ensuring that it will take place; the deployment is scheduled to last from October 13 to October 17.
McClain’s work in her back yard comes after she criss-crossed America alongside Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.), hosting events for Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R., Pa.), Ryan Mackenzie (R., Pa.), Rob Bresnahan (R., Pa.), Scott Perry (R., Pa.), Derrick Van Orden (R., Wis.), Huizenga, and Barrett, along with a grassroots meeting alongside Bouchard.
