Kiersten Pels, the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) National Press Secretary, noted after Piker’s rally with Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan that the anti-American activist “is a disgusting human being. He laughed at a U.S. servicemember being shot down and abuses his dog on camera. Yet Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed are embracing him.”
WHIP EXPANSION: Sen. Tim Sheehy (R., Mont.) joined the Senate GOP’s Whip operation.
FIRST-TIME NUMBERS: First time candidates Michael Whatley, who is running for Senate in North Carolina, and Austin Rogers, who is running for Congress in Florida, hauled in eyebrow-raising numbers this past quarter. Whatley raised $5 million this past quarter, and Rogers raised $725,000 — that includes $350,000 directly from Rogers. A separate, pro-Rogers group, Panhandle Patriots, announced a $2 million haul. Whatley is running to succeed retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R., N.C.) and Rogers is running to succeed retiring Rep. Neal Dunn (R., Fla.).
