LEGAL WIN: The Republican National Committee (RNC) scored a major legal win in North Carolina when a court ruled that a directive that a state law that allowed certain individuals who have never resided in the state to register to vote was unconstitutional. “This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said following the ruling. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state. The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.”
MOVING UP: Logan Luse is now the Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks at the Department of Interior. Luse was previously the department’s number two in the White House Liaison Office.
MAKE DC CLEAN AGAIN: President Donald Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum scored another major win in their work to beautify Washington, D.C. Outside of Union Station, Columbus Circle is almost unrecognizably clean. The White House posted pictures of the circle under President Joe Biden, which featured dirt and pro-terrorist graffiti, and compared it to its clean and restored state under Trump and Burgum.
DISGRACEFUL: The Democratic National Committee (DNC) deleted a post attacking President Donald Trump over Memorial Day Weekend. Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) criticized the DNC’s post, saying that “anyone who fought for the truth about Biden’s debacle at Abbey Gate has seen Democrats trash the memories of 13 fallen service members before.” Even Democrats, like Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D., Ill.) criticized the tone deaf post. “It is incredibly distasteful to use our heroic dead for a political attack on Memorial Day,” she wrote. “I’m a Democrat and I condemn this post by the DNC.”
WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE: Jewish Insider’s Will Bredderman reported a stunning story; Adam Hamawy, a leading Democratic candidate in an open House race, traveled “to Bosnia, with a group subsequently shut down for providing ‘logistical support’ to Al-Qaida.” Hamawy’s ties to terrorists loom large in his campaign for Congress; the Washington Free Beacon’s Jon Levine previously covered Hamawy’s support for terrorists.
USA VS. ?: A campaign rally in Cedar Rapids for Rep. Ashley Hinson (R., Iowa) was disrupted by protesters blowing whistles and screaming. Hinson’s supporters chanted “USA” in response.
INTERVIEW INCOMING: Our editor-in-chief, Matthew Foldi, is traversing Florida with Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling — let us know if you have any questions!
NEW ROLES: Rep. Michael Baumgartner (R., Wash.) hired Hannah Anderson as his new Press Secretary; she was previously a communications assistant at the Republican National Committee (RNC). Rep. Kat Cammack (R., Fla.) hired Rafael Struve as her new Communications Director. He is an alum of Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R., Va.).
NOT AGAIN: The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s (NRSC) Sarah Gallagher caught Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) using Facetune on his photos again.
SURPRISE: Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R., Calif.) staff threw Giulia DiGuglielmo a surprise birthday party over the weekend. Among those spotted were Jonathan Wilcox, Sally Lindsay, Bryce Segat, Wiley Severyn, John Lee, Jason Scism, and Veronica Wong.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Happy birthday to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who’s also the Acting National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump. Rubio has also served as the acting Administrator of USAID and as the acting Archivist of the United States.
