FTC VS. WPATH: Andrew Ferguson, the Chair of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), announced “another huge step in defense of children and parents. We have filed an enforcement action against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) for making false and unsubstantiated claims about the safety and efficacy of medical transition procedures, and for providing to doctors the means to sell those procedures to children and parents.”
MAINE BACKUP: Sen. Susan Collins (R., Maine) is getting support on the airwaves from Pine Tree Results PAC, which is out with an ad in which Maine veterans attack Graham Platner for his remarks criticizing America’s military. “I respect Graham Platner’s service, but he doesn’t respect ours…Platner blames his Nazi tattoo on military culture. That’s insulting.”
NEW PRESIDENT IN TOWN: Elisabeth St. Onge, Sen. Peter Welch’s (D., Vt.) Deputy Communications Director, was elected to serve as the next President of the Senate Press Secretaries Association (SPSA). Congrats Elizabeth!
PROMOTION: Maura Schlee is now a senior counsel at the Department of Commerce’s Office of General Counsel. Schlee, who was previously a counsel in the department, is an alum of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
STAFFING UP: Palantir is on a hiring spree, picking up alums of Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) and of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in recent weeks.
