Acting Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling took his road trip to New York City, joining JPMorganChase (JPMC) employees at the company’s Park Avenue headquarters to meet with senior leaders to discuss JPMC’s new $30 billion American Dream Initiative.
While Sonderling is relatively new to President Donald Trump’s cabinet, he has already logged thousands of miles of travel across America, traversing Florida, America’s southern border, and the halls of high finance.
Sonderling’s discussions with JPMC’s top brass covered ways to connect more Americans to good-paying jobs, while investing in skills-based hiring, and pathways to economic mobility, a spokesperson told the Washington Reporter.
Following his meeting, George Gatch, JPMorgan’s Asset Management’s CEO, told the Reporter that Sonderling’s visit was appreciated. “Thank you to Acting Secretary Sonderling and the Department of Labor team for taking the time to join us,” Gatch said. “We look forward to continuing the dialogue to support the clients and communities we serve.”
Sonderling’s trip to JPMC is his latest trip to meet directly with American business leaders and workers. The Reporter previously embedded with Sonderling during a whirlwind tour of Florida, where he visited a cutting-edge AI company, a Boys and Girls Club, a futuristic high school, a furniture store, and more.
