TO INFINITY, AND BEYOND: Bethany Stevens just finished running communications at NASA, and started working at the White House as Deputy Director of Media Affairs. While working at NASA, Stevens ran point during several major Trump administration victories, most notably the successful Artemis II mission. Stevens is also an alum of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R., Texas) office.
UNRWA UNDER FIRE: Just The News reported that “more countries are reconsidering their support agreements with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, a senior State Department official confirmed to Just the News,” Ashe Short reported. “Following Just the News reporting that the United States’ Agency for International Development’s Inspector General’s office found more than 100 UNRWA employees had participated in the Hamas atrocities of Oct. 7, 2023, Finland’s minister for foreign trade and development announced on Thursday that the country would not extend its support for UNRWA.
BACKUP FOR TRUMP: President Donald Trump’s moves to call for a 301 investigation into the European Union’s (EU) protectionist attacks on American tech companies won quick support from businessman Steve Forbes and from others in Trump’s orbit. Forbes wrote an op-ed defending Trump, and Ken Blackwell, the Chair of the Conservative Action Project, echoed support for Trump’s moves, saying that “the EU is making up for its lack of tech competitiveness by siphoning billions from American companies — this must end.”
DEMS IN DISARRAY: New Jersey Democrats are urging their state’s Democratic Attorney General, Jennifer Davenport, to withdraw the state from a multistate antitrust lawsuit seeking to block Paramount Skydance’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. “We are increasingly concerned that New Jersey taxpayer dollars are being committed to litigation whose merits appear uncertain while its potential costs to the State and to our economy continue to escalate,” the lawmakers wrote in a joint statement. They argue the lawsuit threatens investments the state itself worked for years to attract. The signatories include Bayonne Mayor Sharon Ashe-Nadowski, County Executive Craig Guy, State Senators Raj Mukherji, Brian Stack and Angela McKnight, and several Assembly members.

TEAMING UP: Heritage Action, American Compass, and the Foundation for American Innovation (FAI) drafted a coalition letter urging Congress to use this year’s NDAA to strengthen America’s position in the AI race with China. The groups, which span the conservative movement, are encouraging the adoption of three bipartisan reforms: the AI OVERWATCH Act, the MATCH Act, and the Chip Security Act, to prevent advanced U.S. AI chips and semiconductor technology from reaching the Chinese Communist Party.
