COME AND TAKE IT: The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) announced a nationwide bus tour that will last over two months to the midterm election. In its first ever nationwide bus tour, the gun rights group is traveling from Virginia to Montana, with several stops at college football tailgates in between.
NEW ROLE: Anna Blake Langley is now at the Department of War, where she is the Associate Director for Small Business Programs Industrial Base Growth. Langley, a Hill veteran, previously worked for the House Small Business Committee and for the COVID Select Subcommittee.
“CRUCIAL WORK” ON ACTBLUE: Rep. Bryan Steil (R., Wis.), the Chair of the House Committee on House Administration, is making the rounds discussing his committee’s work investigating ActBlue. Rep. Stephanie Bice (R., Okla.), the Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Modernization & Innovation, praised Steil for his “crucial work” looking into the fundraising platform.
MEDIA MOVES: Kieghan Nangle, Karoline Leavitt’s former executive assistant, is now a press assistant at the White House. Leavitt said that “Kieghan has been the best assistant I could ever ask for. She is loyal, hardworking, and 100% committed to President Trump, which is why she will continue to do a great job serving him at the White House in her new exciting role as a press wrangler.”
100 IS THE NEW 80: The Washington Reporter wants to wish a happy 100th birthday to Mississippi’s finest: Sara Newton. Over the course of her century of life, Newton has been the epitome of a southern belle. Recognized as the ultimate hostess, she took pride in entertaining family and friends, reigned as a dazzling Mardi Gras queen, and can winnow the lineage of at least three quarters of her home state’s population.
FLAG ON THE FIELD: Abdul El-Sayed criticized Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R., Ala.) football coaching record during a now-infamous interview with Jesse Watters. A Washington Reporter review of Tuberville’s record found that the legendary Auburn coach finished his 21-year college football head coaching career with an overall record of 159-99.
