Heard on the Hill

BRACE FOR IT: President Donald Trump is telegraphing that his State of the Union will run long, in part because “we have a lot to talk about.”
KOL HAKAVOD: Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.) will bring Hanan Lischinsky, the brother of Yaron Lischinsky, to the State of the Union. Yaron was murdered by a Palestinian activist outside of the Capital Jewish Museum. Jewish Insider’s Emily Jacobs had the story first.
SHIRLEY IS BACK: Rep. Pete Stauber (R., Minn.) announced that Nick Shirley and David Hoch, who first brought the billions of dollars of fraud in Stauber’s home state to national attention, will be his State of the Union guests.
DEMS ANTICS EXPECTED: Republicans on the Hill are expecting Democrats to try to disrupt the State of the Union in juvenile ways tonight, especially in the light of the increasingly vulgar Democratic campaigns across the country.
MR. WONDERFUL: Sen. Rick Scott (R., Fla.) is bringing TV star Kevin O’Leary as his guest to the State of the Union.
SPECIAL GUEST: Rep. Chris Smith (R., N.J.), the Co-Chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), is bringing Claire Lai, the daughter of democracy and free speech champion, Jimmy Lai, as his guest to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union.
