As Florida’s August 18 primary draws nearer, the best-funded Republican in the race is getting major attention and support from top House Republicans.
Keith Gross, who has poured in millions of dollars of his own money into the race for Florida’s open 2nd District, is adding an endorsement, obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter, from Rep. Sam Graves (R., Mo.), the Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, to his campaign.
In endorsing Gross, Graves explained that he has “spent my career working around people who build things, and who know how to solve problems, create jobs, and deliver results. There’s a big difference between talking about those things and real leadership that creates those things. I know the difference between someone who talks and someone who delivers. Washington has plenty of people who talk.”
On the other hand, Graves said, “Keith Gross has done it. Keith has built businesses, met payroll, created jobs, and understands what it takes to keep America’s economy growing. That’s exactly the kind of real-world experience we need in Congress. Keith is a proven conservative and the most qualified candidate in this race. He’ll fight for policies that strengthen our infrastructure, support small businesses, reduce burdensome regulations, and keep America competitive. President Trump does not need another talker. He needs fighters, and Keith Gross is one of them. I encourage every voter in Florida’s 2nd District to vote on August 18th to send him to Washington.”
Even though Graves is retiring, Gross told the Reporter in an interview that one of the committees he’d like to serve on, should he be elected in January, is the Graves-led Transportation Committee, giving them a logical nexus for ongoing collaboration.
While Democrats have been pushing to expand the battle for control of the House into traditionally red areas, Gross’s own polling — obtained by the Reporter shows him leading every Democratic candidate running.
