As Florida’s primaries draw nearer, one of the leading candidates in Florida’s open 2nd District is rolling out major endorsements from top congressional Republicans. Keith Gross, who has poured millions of his own fortune into his campaign, is rolling out another endorsement, obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter: Rep. Pete Sessions (R., Texas).
In endorsing Gross, Sessions — a former chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) — said that “Keith Gross is a conservative fighter and the most capable candidate in” the race to succeed. Rep. Neal Dunn (R., Fla.). Sessions touted Gross’s qualifications: “A veteran. A job creator. A man who built everything he has from nothing. President Trump needs an America First majority with a spine. Keith Gross is that kind of Republican. Florida’s 2nd District should send him to Washington.”
In addition to his years helming the NRCC, Sessions is the Dean of Texas’s congressional delegation, and a former chair of the House Rules Committee. Gross, who also boasts an endorsement from congressional veterans like Rep. Sam Graves (R., Mo.), will be well-positioned should he win Florida’s August primary to immediately make a difference in D.C.
Despite Democrats’ moves to expand the House map into traditionally Republican areas, Gross’s polling — obtained by the Reporter shows that he is well-positioned to defeat whoever Democrats nominate in Florida’s 2nd District.
As Gross heads into the home stretch of the GOP primary, and then the subsequent general election matchup, he has millions of dollars in cash on hand at his disposal.
