Senate Republicans are putting their fingers on the scale in Louisiana’s Senate election, giving Rep. Julia Letlow (R., La.) added momentum as she aims to build on her strong first-place showing in the GOP primary.

Letlow rode momentum from her endorsement from President Donald Trump to lap the GOP field, but her impressive showing has Sens. Bernie Moreno (R., Ohio), Tim Sheehy (R., Mont.), Katie Britt (R., Ala.), Rick Scott (R., Fla.), and Jim Banks (R., Ind.) backing her against Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming.

“Julia Letlow is a great conservative leader that I would be proud to serve next to in the United States Senate,” Scott said. “She has a proven record of standing with President Trump, fighting for families and conservative values, and delivering real results for the people she serves. She will support the America First agenda, and I am proud to endorse Julia Letlow for the United States Senate.”

Banks, who served with Letlow in the House, said that he “saw firsthand that she is a tough, principled conservative.” He is eager to continue working with her in the Senate; he added that “she fights for Louisiana families and will be a strong America First voice in the Senate. I’m proud to endorse her.”

“Julia Letlow is the kind of conservative fighter we need more of in Washington,” Moreno added. “She has earned the trust of President Trump and Republican voters by leading with conviction and delivering results. I’m proud to support her campaign for the United States Senate.”

Sheehy called Letlow “a strong conservative leader who understands what it means to fight for the people she represents. She will be a powerful ally for President Trump and a relentless advocate for the America First agenda in the United States Senate. I’m proud to endorse Julia Letlow for Senate.”

Britt, for her part, added that her “friend Julia Letlow is exactly the kind of strong conservative leader we need in the United States Senate.”

Britt called Letlow “a woman of faith, a fighter for families, and a proven conservative who will stand with President Trump and fight for the America First agenda every single day. Julia has already delivered real results for Louisiana in the House, and I know she will bring that same strength, conviction, and leadership to the Senate. I am proud to endorse her campaign.”

Letlow has been consolidating support from across the country in the aftermath of her primary. Leading the Future, a pro-artificial intelligence (AI) super PAC, is also backing her in her runoff.

Zac Moffat, who is a co-strategist for the group, said that it is “identifying opportunities where our resources can help cultivate a deep bench of pro-innovation leaders in Congress who understand both the enormous economic benefits of AI and the importance of establishing a clear national framework. Building that coalition now is critical to our mission at Leading the Future and we’re proud to announce our support.” Letlow is one of several candidates it announced it is backing in its latest moves; the others are Kurt Alme, who is running for Senate in Montana, Rep. Kevin Hern (R., Okla.), Rep. Jay Obernolte (R., Calif.), and Angela McKinney, who is running to succeed Rep. Dan Newhouse (R., Wash.).
