President Donald Trump’s historic decision to launch Operation Epic Fury won quick praise from one of Congress’s newest lawmakers.
Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R., Fla.) praised the president and his fellow Floridian, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for their work eliminating sites across Iran in conjunction with Israel.
“The United States demonstrated unmistakable strength with decisive military action against Iran,” Patronis noted. “For decades, the Iranian regime has been an adversary of America while oppressing its own people. Under the leadership of [Trump, Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth] the message is clear. America will defend its interests, its allies, and global stability. This is peace through strength in action.”
Patronis is one of many Florida Republicans who fully support the historic strikes by the Trump administration and its allies around the globe. Others, like Sen. Rick Scott (R., Fla.) and Rep. Mike Haridopolos (R., Fla.) were among the first to commend the administration for its work.
The freshman lawmaker’s position also puts him squarely in line with both the leadership of the Republican Party, whose Kiersten Pels explained her support for Trump’s moves to the Washington Reporter and with GOP voters, nearly all of whom said in a pre-strike poll that they support a move by America to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. That GrayHouse poll was obtained exclusively by the Reporter, and its findings had already been shared with House and Senate Republicans.
