Watch: "We certainly support that": Chevron CEO backs President Donald Trump's energy policies
In the latest sign of corporate America embracing Donald Trump's agenda, Chevron's CEO tells Maria Bartiromo that he's with Trump on energy policy.
President Donald Trump’s energy policies are getting major backing from American companies, which are eager to see a president who “wants to take advantage of American energy abundance,” the CEO of Chevron said, signaling the latest move by many in corporate America to embrace Trump’s agenda in his second term.
Mike Wirth, Chevron’s CEO, took aim at the “regulatory bureaucracy [that] can stifle new energy supplies” in an interview with Maria Bartiromo; during the interview, discussed plans by Chevron and others to create artificial intelligence centers in America.
“It’s difficult to build things in this country,” Wirth said. “The intent here is to relieve some of that bureaucracy, to encourage investment in the energy system in this country, and then to leverage that for the good of our economy. And we can use American energy abundance to drive American AI leadership. That’s a clear part of the President’s agenda and we certainly support that.”

Trump’s cabinet, including Doug Burgum and Chris Wright, are viewed by many in the energy sphere as picks who will enable an American energy renaissance; Trump recently announced that Burgum will join his National Security Council. Trump already announced plans for Burgum to helm the newly-created National Energy Dominance Council.
