SCOOP: Sean Spicer is the new Captain in town
“Some people do it for the rank, and some people do it for the people,” the Secretary of War said of Sean Spicer, a longtime veteran of GOP politics; “Sean does it for the people.”
There’s a new captain in town: Sean Spicer, Captain in the United States Navy.
Spicer was honored at the Army Navy Country Club, where Secretary of War Pete Hegseth presided over the promotional ceremony.
“Some people do it for the rank, and some people do it for the people,” the Secretary of War said of Spicer, a longtime veteran of GOP politics; “Sean does it for the people.”
President Donald Trump’s former Press Secretary’s service in the Navy spans a whopping 27 years — a feat in the face of his political endeavors.
“We’ve watched you in the most difficult arenas, be the man this nation needs,” Hegseth said of Spicer.
A star-studded crowd watched in awe of a man deserving of this recognition.
“I haven’t been this excited to be back behind a podium in 8 years,” Spicer joked as he walked up to give his acceptance speech.
Spicer noted that the promotion to captain had been a long time coming and remembered his reason for joining the service: “The oath we take is to our Constitution,” he said. “There is something unbelievably unique and special about being a part of the strongest fighting force on earth.”
Larry O’Connor, a longtime friend of Spicer’s told the Reporter that the newly-minted Captain represents everything Americans should want in their military.
“Sean Spicer works in media and politics in Washington, D.C.,” O’Connor said. “When you meet someone with those three characteristics, it’s probably safe to bet that you’re dealing with a person who is not very nice or ethical or loyal or moral. Captain Spicer is the exception to the rule. It is always great to see the nice guy land on top in the business we’re in. And that’s how I feel about Sean. He is the perfect embodiment of a Navy Captain.”
Marisela Ramirez, one of the event’s attendees, remarked to the Washington Reporter afterwards that “Captain Sean Spicer is beloved by his family, friends and colleagues. His dedication to defending our great nation will inspire generations to come.”
Among those in attendance were CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, Ambassador to Ireland Geraldine Byrne Nason, Marie Royce, Meredith O’Connor, Larry O’Connor, Mercedes Schlapp, Jennifer Nassour, Kristina Wong, James Pinkerton, Vince Coglianese, Cory Inganamort, Anna Laudiero, Hilton Beckham, Hannah Stone, Roma Daravi, Jack Posobiec, Tanya Posobiec, Marisela Ramirez, Mike Carter, Andrew Guiliani, Tony Teta, Vince Haley, Dina Powell McCormick, Tony Sayegh, Shannon McGahn, Hooff Cooksey, and Mike Dubke.
The Reporter congratulations Spicer Rebecca, and their entire family — and thanks them for their decades of service on behalf of the United States.
