SCOOP: Rep. Claudia Tenney lays out her international strategy to win Trump the Nobel Peace Prize
For years, Rep. Claudia Tenney has nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This year, she's bringing international partners to the table.
Across the world, leaders are nominating President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. But Rep. Claudia Tenney (R., N.Y.) had the idea years before Israeli Primine Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe, and Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema — and countless others backed Trump for the prestigious award.
Tenney explained both her rationale and her global strategy for convincing the Nobel Committee to award Trump the honor this year.
Originally, Tenney nominated Trump years ago “because of his historic win on the Abraham Accords, a peace agreement that has been unparalleled by any other,” she told the Washington Reporter in an interview.
“I nominated him again for his continued peace efforts,” she explained. “That nomination is actually live. Those nominations open up in October, and I plan to nominate him again because of his efforts to restore peace and prosperity — not just across the world but also in America, especially in these cities like D.C.”
“We just met with National Guardsmen who are serving here to make D.C. safe,” Tenney continued. “President Trump is showing every single day that he is committed to the peace and prosperity of Americans across this country.”
But in the same way that Trump himself stresses that America First never means America alone, Tenney explained that she has “met with, and continue[s] to recruit, members of parliament, members of government, all across the world, to consider nominating President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize so that the Nobel Committee knows that this isn’t just coming from one American in one state, who happens to be a strong Trump supporter, but also from people around the world who recognize the historic nature of what President Trump is doing on the world stage with bringing peace to everyone and in wanting prosperity for people all around the world.”
“It’s unfair that President Trump has not received the Nobel Peace Prize,” she said. “Other, less worthy nominees have received the award unfairly.” Should Tenney and her international coalition get their way, that mistake could be rectified as soon as this year.
