But now, as we see our savings dwindle, protecting Social Security has never been more important. For many, Social Security will be the lifeline that so many will rely on, especially as their retirement accounts suffer under the weight of this economic downturn.

Let me be clear: I am committed to protecting Social Security for every American. Social Security is a promise that after a lifetime of work, you will have the support you need to live with dignity in retirement. I will fight tooth and nail to ensure that this promise is kept.

But we must also recognize why we are in this situation. The current economic disaster we are facing did not happen in a vacuum. It is the direct result of the reckless fiscal policies pursued by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and my opponent, Rep. Frank Mrvan. Their policies have driven inflation through the roof, devalued our dollar, and triggered a market nosedive that has wiped out over a trillion dollars of American wealth.

Instead of focusing on policies that might stabilize our economy and protect American workers, Biden, Harris, and Mrvan have doubled down on their failed agenda. They’ve prioritized spending on initiatives that do nothing to benefit the American people — like pushing for health care benefits for illegal immigrants — over safeguarding the financial security of those who have spent their lives paying into the system.

Let’s be honest: if we continue down the path that Kamala Harris and her allies are paving, where public benefits are extended to millions of illegal immigrants, we will jeopardize the very foundation of Social Security. We simply cannot afford to divert resources away from the Americans who have earned them and into the hands of those who have not. It’s not just a question of fairness — it’s a question of survival for a system that millions of Americans depend on.

As your representative, I will stand up to these misguided policies. I will fight to restore fiscal sanity, protect your hard-earned savings, and ensure that Social Security remains strong for generations to come. It’s time for a change in leadership — one that puts American families first, secures our economic future, and honors the promises made to our seniors.

Together, we can overcome this crisis, protect what we’ve worked for, and build a brighter, more secure future for all.

Randy Niemeyer, is a member of the Lake County Council, elected in 2022, after having served as President of the Cedar Lake Town Council. Under Randy’s watch, Cedar Lake was able to turn itself around financially, while expanding its police force, conducting major upgrades to roads, utilities, sewers, and parks, while establishing a municipal fire department. He is a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana and has lived in Cedar Lake most of his life, having raised two children there with his wife of twenty-one years. He is the fourth generation of his family in trucking, as the owner of Niemeyer Milk Transfer, where he started working at 18 years old, right after graduating from Hanover Central High School. Randy has received endorsements from U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, Reps. Elise Stefanik, Jim Banks, Erin Houchin, Rudy Yakym, Kat Cammack, and the National Federation of Independent Business. In July, Niemeyer was listed to the NRCC’s Young Guns Program.
