EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Mikie Sherrill's D.C. office is closed to constituents on Election Day
Rep. Mikie Sherrill is running for governor of New Jersey. Her D.C. office is closed on Election Day.
Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D., N.J.) is polling neck and neck with Republican Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey’s gubernatorial election, in which polls close later today.
A Capitol Hill source flagged that, should Sherrill’s constituents need her to do her day job in Washington, D.C., they would be out of luck.
Sherrill’s office had multiple papers piled up outside of it during business hours, and has been locked throughout the day, according to photos and videos obtained by the Washington Reporter.
“Papers out, no one is there to pick them up,” a source flagged.
Sherrill’s office closure comes as Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.J.) blasted Republicans for “literally [being] on vacation for the last five weeks.”
