EXCLUSIVE: House Republicans want FBI investigation on the Biden corruption cover-up that came straight from the top
In contrast, "President Trump has already made the depoliticization of our IC a priority in his second term, evidenced by Director of National Intelligence Gabbard and CIA Director Ratcliffe."
A top Republican on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence wants FBI Director Kash Patel to open an investigation into “members of the Obama Administration involved in the earlier-mentioned intelligence cover-up and all other abuse of office that may have occurred during their tenure,” according to a letter obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter.
Rep. Pat Fallon (R., Texas) was joined by 20 of his colleagues in writing to Patel and to Attorney General Pam Bondi following a recent CIA declassification of “documents pertaining to then-Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine in 2015,” the lawmakers wrote.
“The evidence uncovered about the weaponization of the USG under the Obama Administration aligns with a clear pattern of Democrats using the IC and administrative state to advance their own partisan agenda, shield themselves from scrutiny, and work to delegitimize their political opponents,” the lawmakers wrote. “This calculated affront to the rule of law and gross misuse of our national security apparatus cannot be left unchecked. We urge the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to launch an investigation into members of the Obama Administration involved in the earlier-mentioned intelligence cover-up and all other abuse of office that may have occurred during their tenure.”
“CIA sources within the Ukrainian government highlighted they held strong concerns regarding the Vice President’s corrupt family ties within the country,” they explained. “Biden and his National Security Advisor, Colin Kahl, asked the Intelligence Community (IC) not to disseminate the intelligence report — despite the document reaching the necessary threshold for dissemination — displaying yet another example of how Democrats have blatantly weaponized, and tarnished the integrity of the IC to further partisan ends.”
Kahl, Biden’s former National Security Advisor to then-Vice President Biden, is a controversial figure in foreign policy circles, especially for his pro-Iranian regime positions.
The lawmakers allege that the reason why correct procedure, which would have necessitated that President Barack Obama, among others, receive these documents, is because the report “highlighted the corrupt practices of the Biden family in Ukraine.”
“The evidence uncovered in the declassification of the report clearly demonstrates that Biden and Kahl knowingly and willfully disrupted routine IC practices and used their positions to suppress intelligence findings for personal gain,” Fallon and the others wrote.
The Trump administration, led by Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, has repeatedly exposed how Trump’s predecessors in the White House routinely abused the IC for political gains. Fallon and his colleagues take note of this as well.
“Weaponizing the USG for political gain is a tactic Democrats have used numerous times,” they wrote. “On July 23, 2025, ODNI released evidence that implicates Obama, James Clapper, John Brennan, and James Comey in manufacturing and manipulating intelligence to craft a false narrative stating that ‘Putin aspired to help President-elect Trump’s election chances, when possible, by discrediting Secretary Clinton.’”
In reality, they explained, “a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) report, declassified this past July, provides strong evidence that President Putin’s aim during the 2016 election was to undermine the United States’ democratic process rather than show partiality towards a candidate.”
In response to those bombshell reports, they note, “Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that ‘the documents we released shows how [the Obama administration] did it: manufacturing findings from shoddy sources, suppressing evidence that disproved their false claims, disobeying IC tradecraft standards, and withholding the truth from the American people.’”
Fallon, for his part, told the Reporter that “Democrats have weaponized the intelligence community (IC) and administrative state to advance their own partisan agenda, shield themselves from scrutiny, and work to delegitimize their political opponents [for more than a decade.”
“What a recently declassified CIA report revealed was that both Biden and his staff intentionally ordered the suppression of key US intelligence findings that signaled concern over the Biden family’s corrupt business dealings in Ukraine,” he added.
“The American public is no stranger to the Biden family influence-peddling scheme, culminating in President Biden’s slew of pardons in the waning hours of his administration,” Fallon — a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force, added. “The officials who took part in this cover-up must be held accountable. Moving forward, it is critical that we take steps to ensure that our IC is never again exploited for partisan gain and that it returns its focus to analyzing and preventing potential threats to our homeland. President Trump has already made the depoliticization of our IC a priority in his second term, evidenced by Director of National Intelligence Gabbard and CIA Director Ratcliffe’s focus on restoring legitimacy and mission focus within the IC.”
Joining Fallon in signing the letters are Reps. Michelle Fischbach (R., Minn.), Clay Higgins (R., La.), Byron Donalds (R., Fla.), Tim Burchett (R., Tenn.), John McGuire (R., Va.), Greg Steube (R., Fla.), Ronny Jackson (R., Texas), Michael Cloud (R., Texas), Randy Weber (R., Texas), Claudia Tenney (R., N.Y.), Lance Gooden (R., Texas), Andy Biggs (R., Ariz.), Andy Ogles (R., Tenn.), Eli Crane (R., Ariz.), Paul Gosar (R., Ariz.), Keith Self (R., Texas), Buddy Carter (R., Ga.), Mary Miller (R., Ill.), John Rose (R., Tenn.), and Anna Paulina Luna (R., Fla.).
