EXCLUSIVE: Bipartisan resolution commends Israel and Kazakhstan for Abraham Accords expansion
Rep. Craig Goldman is leading a bipartisan coalition thanking Kazakhstan and Israel for expanding President Trump's signature diplomatic achievement.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers is lauding both Israel and Kazakhstan for the countries’ historic moves to further their historic ties, as Kazakhstan becomes the latest country to join the Trump-created Abraham Accords.
Rep. Craig Goldman (R., Texas), the co-chair of the House’s Abraham Accords Caucus, is unveiling a resolution, obtained exclusively by the Washington Reporter, celebrating the momentous diplomatic achievement.
The legislation “welcomes the November 6, 2025, announcement regarding the Republic of Kazakhstan’s anticipated accession to the Abraham Accords, enhancing ties between Israel and Kazakhstan”; the resolution ends with hope from the lawmakers that “this agreement could pave the way for more countries in the Middle East and beyond to join the Abraham Accords.”
“Thanks to the strong leadership of President Trump, Kazakhstan has joined the Abraham Accords – a significant step that will strengthen regional stability and bolster support for Israel among Arab states,” Goldman explained to the Reporter. “Alongside my congressional colleagues, I am proud to support President Trump’s continued efforts to advance U.S. national security by promoting peace around the world.”
Rep. Ann Wagner (R., Mo.), one of the other co-chairs of the Abraham Accords Caucus, added that “Kazakhstan joining the Abraham Accords sends a clear message: friendship between Israel, the United States, and Arab and Muslim-majority nations remains a force for peace.”
“Now more than ever, strong ties between Israel and Muslim-majority partners — whether for diplomatic, economic, or security reasons — are necessary to defend against the chaos and conflict that Iran, Russia, and China are spreading around the world,” Wagner added. “Congress’s bipartisan support for expanding and deepening the Abraham Accords is ironclad, and I hope this is just the first of many new countries that President Trump welcomes into the Accords.”
Wagner’s remarks about Congress’s bipartisan support for Israel are reflected in the resolution’s cosponsors, which include Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D., N.J.), Bill Huizenga (R., Mich.), Joe Wilson (R., S.C.), and Mike Lawler (R., N.Y.).
“I’m grateful to lead this resolution, Kazakhstan is an important partner of the U.S. and a strong ally to increase the flow of critical minerals to the U.S.,” Wilson told the Reporter.
In joining the Abraham Accords, Kazakhstan become the first Central Asian to join the group. On November 6th, Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the agreement for Kazakhstan to join.
For years, the Muslim-majority Kazakhstan has maintained warm relations in Israel. In 1992, it was one of the first former Soviet republics to establish diplomatic relations with Israel; since 2003, Kazakhstan has hosted the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, featuring Israeli religious leaders; and by 2016, Netanyahu visited the republic, becoming the first Israeli Prime Minister to do so.
