I’ve spoken to countless auto workers and suppliers concerned about their future because of the EV mandate being forced on our auto companies, which only makes us more dependent on Chinese supply chains.

When I reflect on the struggles I hear on the campaign trail, I am reminded that these hardships were preventable. 

President Joe Biden, Harris, and Slotkin created and supported the policies that have left our country broken and our people hurting. They are the ones who caused prices to spike, they are the ones who left the border open, and they are the ones who ushered in mandates to gut our auto industry.

Democrats are responsible for this mess. Republicans have a duty to clean it up.

My message is simple: help is on the way and I will always have your back.

First, we must cut costs in the grocery store and at the pump. To do that we will end wasteful government spending that increases fuel prices and interest rates. We will unleash America’s vast energy resources to drive down the cost of energy and the cost of goods across the board. 

With Republicans at the helm, America can be energy dominant. This policy approach will drive down prices for families while bringing vast revenue to the federal government to drive down our deficits and debt.

I am committed to securing our southern border. How will we get it done? We will complete the border wall that was stopped by Harris and Slotkin, we will reinstate the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy which allows us to vet individuals attempting to enter our country. I will label criminal drug cartels as terrorist organizations; they’ve killed hundreds of thousands of Americans across our country, including nearly 3,000 Michiganders last year alone.

Additionally, we will cut taxes for families who are living paycheck to paycheck and will increase their take home pay. I support simple cuts like eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security benefits. Michigan families and seniors living on fixed incomes need help, and Republicans will provide it. Furthermore, we will expand the child tax credit to help growing families with the costs associated with adding a precious new life into the world.

Lastly, we will defend our auto industry and make Michigan a manufacturing powerhouse again. That starts with eliminating the Harris-Slotkin EV mandate on day one. The federal government shouldn’t be telling our automakers what type of car to make, especially if it simply benefits China. 

We will end unfair trade practices that have allowed foreign competitors easy access to the American market. Since 1964 there has been a 25 percent tariff on pickup trucks imported into our country, which has led to nearly 100 percent of all pickups sold in America being assembled in America. It’s simple, and it’s proven to work. We need to expand reciprocal tariffs to other aspects of our economy to take on unfair competition, particularly from China.

I am confident that together we can solve all of the problems that are hurting Michigan families. It takes resolve, not happy talk or false promises on the campaign trail. Democrats made this mess and I’m going to Washington to clean it up.
