President Donald Trump’s cabinet members and agency heads were thrilled with his State of the Union address, telling the Washington Reporter that the president’s emphasis on American greatness and the American worker struck precisely the right tone.

“It was the greatest speech President Trump ever gave, and that’s saying something,” Andrew Ferguson, the chair of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), told the Reporter.

Ferguson was far from alone in seeing Trump’s nearly two hour speech as being precisely what they were looking for.

“President Trump continued to prove that he’s undeniably the President of the American Worker,” Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer told the Reporter. Chavez-DeRemer, the daughter of a Teamster, added that “more Americans are working now than ever before in the history of our country, and families are able to keep more of their hard-earned money thanks to the President’s historic tax cuts. The Golden Age of America is upon us, and the best is yet to come.”

Trump’s speech focused extensively on affordability, which has been a priority throughout his administration, and the head of the agency that works closely on cost of living issues told the Reporter that Trump’s “commitment to pro-growth, America-first policies is creating a strong foundation for generational prosperity on Main Street” shone through his remarks.

“President Trump’s State of the Union was about the return of American exceptionalism,” Kelly Loeffler, the Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator told the Reporter. “Momentum is returning to the economy, with inflation easing, wages rising, and record levels of private-sector employment. For America’s 36 million small businesses and their workers, these results translate directly into hiring, expansion, and investment.”

Another agency that works on affordability issues is the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), whose secretary continued his support for Trump’s proposal to ban institutional investors from buying certain homes across America.

“We want homes for people, not for corporations,” Trump said during his speech, which was music to Secretary Scott Turner’s ears.

“By reigning in big corporations, deporting illegal aliens, and cutting red tape, President Trump is making homeownership attainable for American families,” Turner said following Trump’s speech. “Our country is strongest as a nation of homeowners. Mortgage rates have dipped below 6 percent, apartment rents have fallen to a four-year low, and new home builds have risen to a five-month high.”

Trump also scored rave reviews from Doug Burgum, the Secretary of Interior, who called the president “our once-in-a-lifetime Commander in Chief.”

Trump, Burgum said, “delivered more than an address — he delivered a declaration of American resurgence and proof that our country is rising stronger than ever. In just one year, his leadership has driven down energy costs, restored strength at home, revitalized our cities, and because of his bold vision, American Energy Dominance is no longer a promise, it’s a reality reshaping our future. Every policy, every negotiation, every decision is anchored in a single guiding principle: the well-being, prosperity and security of the American people.”

The focus of Trump’s speech also extended well beyond America’s borders, and even beyond the surly bonds of earth. During his speech, he spoke at length about how his whole-of-government-approach to stopping illegal immigration has made Americans safer. Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), has been at the forefront of those efforts.

“In just one year, we stopped thousands of terrorist cartels and gangs from accessing the homeland, ushered in an era of transparency and accountability, prioritized the health and wellness of our people, and began to restore a government that is of, for and by the people as our Founders intended,” Gabbard noted. Gabbard, a longtime military veteran, also appreciated how Trump honored heroes from throughout America’s history.

“President Trump tonight not only highlighted our successes as a nation but he also honored and celebrated every day Americans who have been a part of what makes our nation special, like CW5 Eric Slover and Captain Royce Williams (Ret.) who he presented with the Medal of Honor, Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom who he honored with the Purple Heart, World War Two hero Buddy Taggart who will celebrate his 100th birthday on July 4th, and of course the U.S. Men’s Hockey team straight off their Olympic gold medal win,” Gabbard added.

But Trump was not content with achievements on Planet Earth, and his NASA Administrator said following the speech that America will “go back” to the Moon “this year.”

“250 years ago, our great nation was established,” NASA’s Jared Isaacman said. “65 years ago, America went to space. 58 years ago, we circumnavigated the Moon. 57 years ago we landed on the Moon. This all happened through sheer American exceptionalism. This year, we go back.”
