During his latest interview with the Washington Reporter’s editor-in-chief Matthew Foldi, President Donald Trump cut Foldi off with a succinct message: “you guys are doing a good job,” the President of the United States said.
The president and Foldi covered extensive ground in their latest interview, discussing everything from health care to foreign policy to the president’s successes in securing America’s borders.
Despite the Reporter’s status as a relative newcomer to the White House beat, Trump’s longstanding readership and praise for the outlet has been established almost from the get-go. Shortly before Trump returned to the White House following his historic 2024 comeback, he told the Reporter’s Foldi in an interview “I like you guys.”
That rapport continued in the latest call, with the president asking Foldi what the latter thought about his latest Truth Social post about America’s strategic need to acquire Greenland. “How did you like the Truth I put out about Greenland today?” the president asked.
At one point, the president also asked Foldi about the 837 hangings that Iran’s Islamic theocracy halted as part of its campaign to appease the president.
“That’s a lot of hangings, right?” the president asked. “Can you imagine that?”
When Foldi responded that Iran’s rulers “live in the Stone Ages, and hopefully you’ll be able to bring them into the modern era,” Trump praised the reporter.
“You’re my kind of guy; you’re my kind of guy,” Trump told Foldi. “You’re doing a good job.” He then asked “how are you doing?”
