- TRUMP BACKS GOP WOMEN IN TEXAS: President Donald Trump backed a series of Texas Republicans ahead of the Lone Star State’s primary next month, including Jessica Hart Steinmann and Alex Mealer. Both women have been priorities for Winning for Women and its affiliated organizations. “WFW Action Fund has been with Jessica and Alex since Day One, raising money for their campaigns through our JFC and investing heavily in ads ahead of their primary,” WFW’s executive director Meredith Allen Dellinger told the Washington Reporter. “Both women are leading in the polls because Texas voters understand they’ll fight for them in Washington. We’re thrilled that President Trump chose to endorse them today.” Trump also endorsed Republicans Carlos De La Cruz and Jon Bonck in their congressional campaigns.
- NEW MOVES: Lance Trover, a GOP strategist who is a veteran of former Gov. Bruce Rauner’s (R., Ill.) orbit, joined Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R., La.) team as its communications director. Congratulations Lance!
- RED ALERT: Just the News’s Jerry Dunleavy reported that “Jodie Evans — the founder of Code Pink & the wife of the CCP-linked Singham Network’s leader — is personally leading efforts to recruit Americans for ‘Red China’ trips praising Mao & the Communist Revolution.”
- PICTURE PERFECT: Former Gov. Roy Cooper (D., N.C.) posted a photo of him voting in North Carolina’s primary, but he quickly deleted it after RNC Regional Communications Director Delanie Bomar pointed out that he was using a photo ID to cast his ballot.
- CASH IS KING: Several House Republican incumbents are heading into the midterms facing fractured Democratic fields while remaining flush with cash. Mike Marinella, the NRCC’s National Press Secretary, singled out Reps. David Valadao (R., Calif.), Darrell Issa (R., Calif.), Gabe Evans (R., Colo.), and Tom Barrett (R., Mich.) for specific praise. All four incumbents, Marinella noted, “are raking in the cash and outraising their entire Dem field combined.”
