Huizenga’s campaign efforts included multiple swings in Michigan alongside Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.), Whip Tom Emmer (R., Minn.), newly-elected GOP Conference Chair Lisa McClain (R., Mich.) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) to campaign for incoming Rep. Tom Barrett, who flipped one of the GOP’s top priority open seats. He also traveled to swing districts with Emmer, McClain, and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R., Mo.).
Districts Huizenga campaigned in included those of Reps. Don Bacon (R., Neb.), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R., Iowa), and Mike Lawler (R., N.Y.) as well as those of incoming Republicans who won competitive races, including Gabe Evans and Jeff Hurd in Colorado.
These nationwide efforts came as Democrats spent tens of millions of dollars in Michigan, only for President Donald Trump to flip the state red and for Republicans to flip control of the state House, both of which Huizenga was involved in.
