Congressional hopeful Mike Haridopolos has contributed more than $325,000 to elect Republicans across the country, even though he is not even in Congress yet.
Haridopolos, who is all but certain to succeed Rep. Bill Posey (R., Fla.) next year, has raised around $2 million this cycle, which he has used to expand the House GOP majority. Haridopolos told the Washington Reporter that he’s given around $150,000 directly to candidates and incumbents, along with just shy of $200,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), and $35,000 to the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF).
As the former president of the Florida State Senate, Haridopolos knows how to fundraise, and many observers in Washington, D.C., have told the Reporter that he is a promising freshman to keep an eye on.
Beyond the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Haridopolos has given to the NRCC and CLF, he has given directly to House GOP leaders, to every incoming member from a safe GOP seat, and to Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R., Ariz.), Jen Kiggans (R., Va.), Ken Calvert (R., Calif.), Don Bacon (R., Neb.), Derrick Van Orden (R., Wis.), Mike Garcia (R., Calif.), Tom Kean (R., N.J.), and more.
